Monofil Smart+ is ideal for refinishing cars, commercial vehicles, machinery and other suitable prepared surfaces. The weather resistant and lightfast formulation helps protect the finished surface from sunlight, colour fade and everyday exposure, providing a finish that continues to look its best. Whether you are completing a localised repair, restoring an existing component or applying a fresh finish to prepared bodywork, the easy to control aerosol application helps deliver even, professional looking results.

Suitable Surfaces

Designed for use on cured and sanded existing paintwork, properly dried one component and two component fillers, factory coatings and suitable shop primers. Surfaces must be clean, dry, sound and correctly prepared before application.

Do not apply to thermoplastic substrates or surfaces treated with primers of unknown composition without first checking compatibility.

Surface Preparation

Remove any old coatings or fillers that have not fully cured or are no longer sound. Clean the surface thoroughly with a suitable degreaser to remove dust, dirt, grease and oil.

Sand intact existing paintwork, factory coatings or suitable primers using P400 to P500 abrasive paper. Once sanded, clean and degrease the surface again before application.

Application

Shake the can vigorously for one to two minutes before use and repeat shaking periodically during application. Carry out a test spray before starting.

Apply three to four even coats from a distance of approximately 20 to 30 cm. Allow three to five minutes between coats. The recommended dry film thickness is approximately 40 to 50 μm.

For best results, apply in a well ventilated area at a temperature of at least 10°C and at no more than 80 per cent relative humidity.

Drying Times

At 20°C, the coating is approximately:

• Dust dry after 10 minutes
  
• Touch dry after one to two hours
  
• Ready for assembly after approximately 12 hours

Drying times may vary depending on the ambient temperature, humidity, film thickness and application conditions.
