Application & Processing Instructions
Substrate Preparation: Clean, dry, and thoroughly degrease the entire work surface with Mipa Silikonentferner prior to application.
Sand the substrate slightly. Completely remove any uncured old paintwork or priming coats.
Bare metal/rust repair: De-rust defective spots down to bare metal and dry-sand using P 80 / P 150 paper.
Incompatibility: Do not apply over thermoplastic finishes or acid-curing wash primers (Reaktionsprimer).
Non-Ferrous Metals & Restorations: When applying over non-ferrous metals (aluminium, galvanised steel) or during vintage car restorations, applying a primer coat of Mipa EP-Primer-Surfacer first is recommended to maximise adhesion and corrosion protection.
Mixing:
Mix 100 parts by weight of Mipa P 19 E thoroughly with 2 parts by weight of Mipa Härter P.
Do not exceed 3% hardener. Under- or over-dosing hardener can cause bleed-through or spotting in final topcoat paint layers.
Environmental Conditions: Process between +10 °C and up to 80% relative humidity with adequate supply and exhaust ventilation.
Note: Polyester body fillers stop curing at temperatures below +10 °C.
Sanding:
Body filler must only be dry sanded.
Initial dry sanding: P 150 / P 240 grit paper.
Final dry sanding: P 240 / P 360 grit paper to achieve a uniform matt finish prior to surfacer/primer coats.
Isolation: Always isolate the cured filler with a Mipa 1K or 2K primer filler before applying topcoats.
