Application & Processing Guidelines
Substrate Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, free of grease, and slightly sanded. Remove uncured old paintwork or acid primers (Reaktionsprimer).
Ferrous Metals: De-rust damaged areas to bare metal and dry sand using P 80/150 paper. Degrease using Mipa Silicon Remover Silikonentferner.
Non-Ferrous Metals & Restorations: For aluminium, galvanised surfaces, or vintage car restorations, apply Mipa EP-Primer-Surfacer prior to filling for optimal adhesion and rust protection.
Mixing: Mix 100 parts by weight of Mipa P 55 with 2 parts by weight of Mipa Härter P hardener (do not exceed 3% hardener to avoid spotting in the finish layer).
Application Conditions: Work above +10 °C (polyester body filler will not cure below +10 °C) and up to 80% relative air humidity.
Sanding & Finishing:
Dry sand only.
Initial dry sanding: P 150/240 grit.
Final dry sanding: P 240/360 grit to a matt finish before applying filler.
Isolation: Always isolate the body filler with a Mipa 1K or 2K filler prior to applying topcoats.
