Application & Processing Guidelines
Substrate Preparation:
Clean, dry, and degrease the entire surface with Mipa Silikonentferner before every operation.
Sand surfaces slightly. Remove uncured old paintwork and priming coats.
De-rust defective spots to bare metal and dry sand with P 80/150 paper.
Incompatibility: Do not apply over thermoplastic or acid-based products (Reaktionsprimer).
Non-Ferrous Metals & Restorations: When filling aluminium, galvanised steel, or restoring classic vehicles, apply a priming coat of Mipa EP-Primer-Surfacer prior to filling for enhanced adhesion and optimal corrosion protection.
Mixing: Thoroughly mix 100 parts by weight of Mipa P 97 with 2 parts by weight of Mipa Härter P hardener (do not exceed 3% hardener to prevent topcoat spotting).
Processing Conditions: Work above +10 °C and up to 80% relative air humidity. (Polyester fillers will not cure below +10 °C).
Sanding & Finishing:
Body filler must only be dry sanded.
Initial dry sanding: P 150/240 grit paper.
Final dry sanding to a matt finish: P 240/320 grit paper prior to primer application.
Isolation: Always isolate the surface with a Mipa 1K or 2K filler primer prior to topcoat application.
